Role Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the financial management for a portfolio of clients, preparing bespoke monthly and quarterly management accounts that provide valuable insights.
  • Generate and present clear and concise profit and loss reports to clients, explaining key variances and offering strategic recommendations.
  • Manage all aspects of sales invoicing and associated reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Expertly handle accruals and prepayments, demonstrating a strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Conduct thorough bank reconciliation's, postings, and balance checks across multiple client accounts.
  • Efficiently manage petty cash and post relevant journals for various clients.
  • Process and reconcile daily bank receipts, ensuring accurate allocation across client accounts.
  • Collaborate in the preparation of yearly budgets for clients, offering valuable input based on your experience.
  • Set up new suppliers on client accounting software, ensuring data integrity.
  • Generate insightful reports on debtors and creditors, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues for clients.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely VAT returns for a range of businesses, staying up-to-date with relevant regulations.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • AAT Part Qualified or Qualified (essential), with a strong preference for candidates with experience working within an accountancy practice.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAGE, and XERO, with the ability to adapt to other accounting software as needed.
  • Proven and essential experience in a client-facing finance/accounting role within an accountancy practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and explain financial information clearly to non-financial individuals.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client deadlines effectively.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • A proactive and problem-solving approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
