Accountant Government Contractor Washington, D.C. hybrid

My client is a professional service firm supporting various Federal Agencies located in Washington, D.C. with a mostly remote work schedule. Due to the awarding a multi-million-dollar contract they have a need for an Accountant. This new Accountant opportunity will report directly to the CFO. The Accountant will be responsible for operational accounting including accounts payable, payroll, billing, and government invoicing. Accounting professionals with QuickBooks experience are highly encouraged to apply. The Accountant will join an experienced team and be responsible for the following duties:
- Manage accounting operations ensuring efficient and accurate financials for government billing process
- Set up new contracts and maintain existing contracts in the financial system in accordance with contractual requirements and agency procedures
- Process accounts payable invoices and prepare project billing invoices
- Generating and processing invoices for the Federal Gov. Agencies
- Maintain and ensure that a current and complete client billing codes in the company's share drive
- Reconcile accounts, assist with preparing monthly financial reports
- Process employee payroll ensuring compliance with federal and staff laws

Requirements:
- 5 year experience in accounting
- Experience in T&M, Fixed pricing, Cost Plus pricing
- Must have experience in Government Contract accounting
- BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Proficient in QuickBooks and MS Excel
