Accountant

ABR is recruiting an Accountant for a wonderful non-profit organization in Central Wisconsin. The schedule for an hourly person is 37.5 hours per week 8am to 4:30 pm Monday thru Friday and day on Friday. Starting wage is $21.00 per hour plus benefits upon hire.

This position exists to perform supporting financial functions of the corporation, including preparing deposits, processing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and general ledger functions including reconciliations.in a complex, fast paced environment.

Accountant Qualifications:
Education: BA/BS in Accounting or AA in accounting with three years' experience in comparable position.

Experience: Three years of progressively more responsible experience in comparable positions, or work considered to be directly preparatory to the position leading to a broad and detailed knowledge of job responsibilities and methods, with the expectation of considerable job maturity and competence upon entry into the job.

-Must have working knowledge of accrual accounting practices
-Must have experience with accounting practices including source documentation, account reconciliation, formulating journal entries, using complex charts of accounts, and following regulations and restrictions imposed by funding sources.
-Must be able to organize workload and operate independent of daily supervision
-Must be able to produce highly accurate and detail-oriented work product
-Must possess a high degree of proficiency with personal computers including the use of productivity software and Microsoft Excel for creation, editing and modification of worksheets.
-Must have experience with use of at least one major module of a computerized accounting software system (accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.)
