Our client is a major player in the Marine Construction Industry and they are looking for an Accountant to join their team in office.
This position requires proficiency with QuickBooks Online and data entry, along with a solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate will have advanced spreadsheet skills, a strong aptitude for numbers, and exceptional attention to detail. They should be highly organized, capable of working independently, and possess strong time management, analytical, and self-management abilities. A proactive attitude, commitment to building and maintaining positive working relationships, open-mindedness, and a strong work ethic are essential. Additionally, the ability to adapt, learn, and succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment is key.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Contribute to the company's financial operations by ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance in accounts receivable and payable in line with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Record and track all financial transactions (credits and debits) using designated company software.
- Process and document vouchers, cash, and check payments.
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger entries, and financial statements.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Conduct regular audits to verify accuracy in reports, transactions, and records, addressing any issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain current documentation of accounting procedures to support business continuity.
- Utilize bookkeeping software (such as QuickBooks), databases, and spreadsheets to manage accounting records and activities.
- Compile data and generate routine and ad hoc financial reports for management, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Provide general accounting and clerical support as required.
- Assist and support internal staff as needed.
- Operate in compliance with established procedures, standards, and applicable regulations.
