ABOUT THE COMPANY:

• We are working with a non-profit organization that helps individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental illness, and traumatic brain injury reach their full potential. Our client offers a variety of services, including housing, employment, day services, and community support. They also has a number of volunteer opportunities available, as well as career opportunities for those who are passionate about working with individuals with disabilities.
• They are looking to grow their accounting team and bring on a new Accountant
• Looking for someone with initiative and a want to grow within the company.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

• Analyze account activity: Investigate and explain fluctuations in account balances, identify trends, and reconcile discrepancies.
• Prepare journal entries: Accurately record financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles.
• Financial statement review: Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Month-end close support: Participate in month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments. This may involve:
  • Preparing and entering journal entries for accruals, deferrals, and reclasses
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts to supporting documentation
  • Analyzing and reviewing expense reports
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial reports
• Process improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Special projects: Contribute to ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA in Accounting, Finance or related filed.
• Tech savvy and detail oriented.
