Job Description:
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant or Senior Accountant to support key financial functions. Reporting to the company President and working closely with the Director of Client Services and our fractional Controller, this individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, broker commission payments, account reconciliations, and client funding requests.
Key Responsibilities
Manage our billing database and accounts receivable processes
Coordinate and process broker commission payments
Reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis
Support the outside controller month-end close process as needed
Help maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and service teams to support financial accuracy and transparency
Assist with client funding options including -prefund accounting setup, management and notifications
Assist with client reimbursement ACH and check processing
Assist with check deposit and positive pay exceptions
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or,
3+ years of accounting experience; TPA or benefits experience a strong plus
Proficient with QuickBooks QBO and/or Enterprise
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
Experience with reconciliations and billing cycles
High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and juggle multiple priorities
Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the TPA, benefits, or brokerage industries
Familiarity with WEX Health and claim funding reconciliations
Exposure to CRM or workflow tools like
