Voces de la Frontera (VDLF) is the largest grassroots Latinx membership organization in Wisconsin and a national leader in the Immigrant and Workers' Rights Movements. Led by immigrant workers and students, Voces works to protect and expand civil and workers' rights through leadership, development, community organizing, and collective empowerment. VDLF has chapters in Milwaukee, Racine, Madison, Green Bay/Fox Cities, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Waukesha, Walworth County, Kenosha, and West Bend. Voces also has a student arm called Youth Empowered in the Struggle (YES) and a 501c4 sister organization Voces de la Frontera Action (VDLFA).

Employment Type: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Position Summary:
The accountant plays a critical role in supporting the organization's financial management, operations, and fundraising activities. This position involves maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions, managing grant tracking and deposits, and assisting with regular reconciliations and reporting. The individual will collaborate closely with the executive director and finance team to ensure compliance with operational and financial policies and support the smooth running of key programs. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall financial integrity and success of the organization while supporting key internal processes and external fundraising initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Manage entries and assist with reports for grant tracking on QuickBooks
Track all C3 and C4 deposits and take them to the bank weekly
Manage monthly reconciliation (all bank account entries, grants, sustainer memberships, membership splits, withdrawal, ach transactions, online donations, bank deposits)
Manages all receivables and assists with payables as needed.
Regular and timely usage of administrative and staff communication channels (email, Signal, text, phone)
Work closely with the executive director and finance team to ensure compliance and oversight of operations requests
Incorporate new systems to facilitate programs such as Square, Divvy and
Assist staff with fundraising campaigns (such as the Gala, May Day, and Annual Assembly)
Create and manage tracking sheets to monitor donations
Data entry to organizational databases including QuickBooks and Every Action (internal member database)
Attend and support major Voces de la Frontera events and campaign actions
Assist with logistics on all events
Create financial reports for monthly board meetings budgets
Track all expenses and receipts for all financial accounts
Monthly meetings with development to classify and track grants
Create invoices to obtain funds from grantors
Be vigilant of any suspicious fraudulent activity
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Accounting background with prior experience managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance
Bachelor's degree
Experience with Quickbooks Required
Ability to meet deadlines and work flexibly in a high paced, changing work environment
Knowledge of Microsoft and Google tools
Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills
Have respect for and the ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
Experience with immigrant rights organizing preferred

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
