GrandArmy is looking for an Account Manager to add to our growing team. The account role will be a member of a design-led creative studio - applicant should be aware creative strategy and design are paramount at GrandArmy, and this is not an account-led agency. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, positive, curious, and driven by the desire to support the creative team to create the best work while fostering client relations.


This role will help drive projects forward autonomously - working closely on the details, timing, and scheduling of a project. The account positions here at GrandArmy touch every aspect of a project: from the relationship with the client to the relationship with the creative team, strategy, finance, and production. It is ultimately the role of an Account person at any level to ensure that a project meets the client and agency's ambitions to generate great, effective creative work, on time and on budget, and to motivate the team along the way.


This role is for an account manager at a creative studio - previous experience in a similar role is required. Sales-based account managers need not apply.


Prerequisites for the candidate:

  • Between 3-5 years of experience working for an advertising, marketing, or creative/branding agency
  • Experience managing simultaneous multiple accounts
  • Preference for those who have worked at smaller agencies, with familiarity serving many roles on the team - Ability to scale up or down on projects, as needed
  • Experience working on a wide range of client industry verticals
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to serve as day-to-day liaison with client, handle their requests, and communicate project priorities to the internal team
  • Awareness of a majority of creative processes, from strategy through design to production/deployment of a brand and/or campaign(s)
  • Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities will include:

  • Client relationship management
  • Internal team coordination of client/project needs
  • Working closely with account and creative leads, as well as senior company leadership
  • Internal + external team resources management
  • Project schedule management
  • Coordination with third-party vendors (production, digital development, etc.)
  • Serve as an industry expert across all projects with a passion for staying up-to-date on new trends and brand insights
  • Support Head of Accounts in nurturing client relationships, up-sell agency capabilities, and encouraging future project engagements
  • Improving agency processes across all disciplines
  • Passion for being a member of, and helping grow the agency
  • Additional creative agency support as needed

This position is full-time, and based in New York City. The office operates on a hybrid basis - five days in the office out of every ten (every other Tuesday, and every Wednesday and Thursday in the office). This role will report to the agency's Head of Accounts.
