About the Role:

As an Account Manager at Terrane, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth through exceptional sales performance, client engagement, and a deep understanding of land surveying project types. You'll work closely with a Project Coordinator to ensure smooth project execution, but your primary responsibility will be to build lasting relationships with new and existing clients, drive new business, and ensure that Terrane's services align with their specific surveying needs. With your background in surveying or a related field, you will position Terrane as a trusted partner in key industries, identify sales opportunities, and engage with clients to deliver exceptional results.


This role requires a dynamic, high-energy sales individual who is not only experienced in sales but also has a strong understanding of land surveying projects, such as boundary surveys, construction staking, topographic surveys, and site planning. You will need to have experience working in environments where surveying is a critical part of the project lifecycle, enabling you to understand client needs, overcome industry-specific challenges, and deliver tailored solutions.


Key Responsibilities:


Sales Leadership & Client Acquisition:

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in the land surveying market, including cultivating new relationships and expanding existing accounts.
  • Lead sales efforts by delivering tailored surveying solutions based on a deep understanding of client project needs-whether it's boundary surveys, construction staking, topographic surveys, or other specialized land surveying services.
  • Position Terrane as the premier surveying service provider by identifying high-value opportunities within key accounts in industries such as construction, real estate, and land development.
  • Manage the sales cycle from initial inquiry through to proposal, negotiation, and closing, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables for land surveying projects.

Client Success & Retention:

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring high satisfaction and identifying opportunities for additional surveying services and business expansion.
  • Develop and execute tailored account plans that focus on revenue retention and cross-selling across the full spectrum of surveying services.
  • Continuously monitor and assess client satisfaction, and proactively address any issues or concerns that may arise in the delivery of land surveying services.

Revenue Growth & Performance:

  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets by securing new surveying projects and expanding service offerings with existing clients.
  • Utilize a deep understanding of land surveying project types and client needs to drive performance, increase revenue streams, and maximize client ROI.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to define and refine sales strategies, pipeline management, and overall business development goals, particularly within the land surveying sector.

Strategic Problem-Solving & Sales Strategy:

  • Analyze market trends, client needs, and competitor activities in the land surveying industry to identify opportunities for growth and develop targeted sales strategies.
  • Adapt sales techniques to address specific challenges in land surveying projects, from navigating regulatory requirements to meeting tight project timelines.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including operations and marketing, to create custom solutions that address client challenges while increasing sales and delivering results.
  • Develop sales presentations and proposals that effectively communicate the value of Terrane's land surveying services, showcasing competitive advantages and desired outcomes.

What We're Looking For:


Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business development, sales, land surveying, or a closely related field.
  • Proven track record of success in sales, including exceeding revenue targets and managing client relationships, ideally within the land surveying, construction, or real estate industries.
  • Strong experience with land surveying project types (e.g., boundary surveys, construction staking, topographic surveys, site planning, etc.) is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience working in the land surveying or a related field is highly desirable, as it will allow you to effectively engage with clients and understand the complexities of surveying projects.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong sales acumen with the ability to identify business opportunities and drive the sales process from inquiry to close, particularly in the context of land surveying services.
  • In-depth knowledge of land surveying project types, including familiarity with technical concepts and industry terminology.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with decision-makers and influencers across multiple industries.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment with flexibility and adaptability to the evolving demands of the surveying industry.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools such as Salesforce, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
