About the Role and Your Impact
As an Account Executive for the Music Vertical, you will focus on expanding Community's presence in key, high-potential areas we have yet to fully tap into. You will target music festivals, performing arts centers, and music product companies, working with both SMB and Enterprise accounts. You'll be responsible for hunting new business, building relationships with key decision-makers, and bringing new clients onto the Community platform.
This position requires a customer-first mentality with an emphasis on long-term partnerships over quick closes. You will need to assess client needs, create tailored sales presentations, and work cross-functionally with marketing, product, and engineering to ensure our platform meets the evolving needs of the music industry.
What You'll Do
- New Business Acquisition: Identify, prospect, and close new business with music festivals, performing arts centers, and music product companies. You will be a "hunter" responsible for bringing in new clients within these targeted verticals.
- Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with marketing to build customized sales decks and collateral tailored to the unique needs of these verticals. Assess the type of content and resources needed to successfully pitch Community to new prospects.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product and engineering teams to prioritize feature requests and product adjustments to ensure Community's platform meets the specific needs of the music festival, performing arts, and music product markets.
- Customer Engagement: Approach sales with a customer-first mentality, focusing on understanding the client's long-term goals and aligning Community's capabilities to meet those objectives. Build strong, lasting relationships with decision-makers.
- Sales Cycle Management: Own the sales pipeline from lead generation to close, working independently and managing your time effectively. Regularly meet KPIs and sales goals, focusing on both quantity and quality of deals.
- Market Insights: Stay informed on trends within the music industry, particularly in the festival and live music space, to ensure Community is positioned as the go-to platform for driving fan engagement through text messaging.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales activity, forecasting, and performance metrics in CRM tools. Provide regular reports to senior leadership on progress toward targets and overall sales performance.
What You'll Bring
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in SaaS sales or a similar B2B sales role, with a proven track record of success in a "hunter" role.
- Must have experience in selling to marketers within the music industry, ideally with a focus on music festivals, performing arts centers, or music product companies.
- SaaS Sales Experience: Strong experience selling SaaS-style products to marketers, with a deep understanding of the sales cycle, from prospecting to closing deals. Familiarity with platforms that drive fan engagement, marketing automation, or digital experiences is a plus.
- Sales Acumen: A results-driven mentality, comfortable working with SMBs and large Enterprise clients alike. You should be adept at managing a sales pipeline and consistently hitting targets.
- Relationship Building: Ability to create long-term relationships with clients, demonstrating empathy, and a deep understanding of their needs to build a solution that delivers sustainable value.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with product, engineering, and marketing teams to customize offerings and ensure client needs are met. You should be able to drive product enhancements based on client feedback.
- Presentation Skills: Comfort and fluency in presenting to high-level decision-makers. You'll need to clearly communicate Community's value proposition, focusing on how we can solve problems for clients in the music industry.
- Self-Starter: You must be comfortable working independently and have the drive to manage your own projects and sales cycle with little oversight.
- Tools: Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.), Google Suite, and video conferencing tools (Zoom). Familiarity with analytics platforms like Looker or similar is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation Range: $100,000-120,000 +Commission
- Equity: RSUs with a 4-year vesting schedule and 1-year cliff.
