About the Company

Sparrow is a high-growth, post-seed, fintech startup based in New York City. We are modernizing how financial institutions lend, engage, and market to their members and have experienced tremendous, profitable growth in 2024, scaling ARR from $0 to $1MM in under 12 months. We're accelerating even faster in 2025, and we're looking for a Account Executive (AE) to help us drive our continued growth.

About the Team

Our team works quickly and collaboratively to come to decisions quickly. We value the merit of a solution and are unencumbered by organizational hierarchy - everyone has a seat at the table and contributes to shaping our product roadmap.

You'll be working closely with a motivated group of sales, operations, and customer success professionals to fuel our expansion and take our business to the next level.

What you'll do:

  • Own the Full Sales Cycle: Prospect, qualify, demo, and close deals with credit unions looking to improve their member engagement through email marketing. You'll be responsible for managing opportunities from initial outreach to signed agreements.
  • Build and Maintain a Strong Pipeline: Use a combination of inbound leads, outbound prospecting, industry events, and networking to consistently generate new business opportunities.
  • Develop Deep Client Relationships: Engage with key decision-makers to understand their needs and position Sparrow's solutions effectively. You'll act as a trusted advisor, guiding them through the sales process and ensuring a seamless handoff to Customer Success.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with marketing, product, and customer success to refine messaging, improve sales processes, and ensure a great customer experience. Provide feedback from the field to help shape product development and go-to-market strategy.
  • Negotiate and Close Deals: Lead pricing discussions, address objections, and create compelling proposals that demonstrate the value of Sparrow's offerings.
  • Maintain CRM Accuracy: Keep detailed records of sales activities, pipeline progress, and client interactions to ensure visibility and alignment across the team.
  • Drive Revenue Growth: Consistently meet and exceed sales quotas, playing a critical role in Sparrow's growth and success.

You should be excited by:

  • Ownership: You'll have full control over your sales pipeline, directly contributing to revenue growth and the company's success.
  • Collaboration: You'll work closely with marketing, customer success, and product teams to align strategies and maximize impact.
  • Professional Growth: We're committed to your development-you'll have the opportunity to refine your sales skills, take on increasing responsibility, and grow within the organization.
  • Exposure: You'll be involved in all aspects of the deal cycle, from prospecting to close, and will play a key role in shaping the company's sales strategy.
  • Impact: The relationships you build and the deals you close will directly drive Sparrow's expansion and establish us as a leader in credit union email marketing.

We're excited about you because

  • You have a sense of entrepreneurship: a self-starter with a high sense of urgency and ability to work within undefined processes.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • You have excellent listening skills and an energetic conversational presence.
  • You're organized, detail-oriented, and can manage a large volume of outreach efficiently.
  • You're self-motivated, proactive, and excited to contribute to Sparrow's growth.

Extra things we would love you to have

  • You have 1-2 years of experience in sales or customer-facing roles, preferably in a tech or SaaS environment.
  • Prior CRM experience (preferably HubSpot).
  • Familiarity with fintech and financial services.
  • Experience at an early-stage startup.

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance: Sparrow covers 90% of premiums for employees and 50% for dependents.
  • 401(k): Sparrow supports employee 401(k) contributions, though currently does not match.

Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

We're committed to growing and empowering a more inclusive community within our company. That's why we hire and cultivate diverse teams of people from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We believe that true innovation happens when everyone has room at the table and the tools, resources, and opportunities to excel.
