Job Overview
Coordinates and manages all components required for a multi-disciplinary team approach to successfully participate in and complete clinical research trials at TriHealth. As an educator, consultant/liaison, and evaluator, the Academic Clinical Research Coordinator ensures clinical research trials are conducted with safety, integrity, and efficiency, adhering to good clinical practices. Responsibilities include working with the Principal Investigator (PI) and study team to determine study design, perform literature searches, write protocols, and assess feasibility. Acts as the primary contact for own studies and liaises with internal and external customers, including external compounding pharmacies. Maintains study data, performs intermittent analysis, assists with study feasibility, presentation materials, and develops posters for presentation and/or manuscripts for publication. Develops preliminary study budgets and may work with the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and process Continuing Medical Education (CME) applications. Responsible for marketing and networking, and adheres to the standard operating procedures of the TriHealth Hatton Research Institute.
Job Requirements
•  Bachelor's Degree in Science (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree)
•  Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
•  Proficiency in Microsoft Office
•  2-3 years of professional healthcare experience Job Responsibilities
•  Develops processes to facilitate the implementation of research protocols to provide effective and safe medical research to all subjects. Identifies potential and/or actual issues that may prohibit accurate implementation and initiates interventions to avoid protocol violations and/or unsafe practices.
•  Performs initial and ongoing evaluations of research subjects and implements care directed towards optimal outcomes. Plans and implements care for research subjects/families based on clinical consultation, standards of care, optimal outcomes, and protocol requirements. Performs technical skills according to policy and procedure and accepted TriHealth standards. Appropriately documents in medical records.
•  Ensures compliance with IRB/FDA standards and deadlines, including notification of subject randomization and enrollment, completing progress reports, reporting all deaths and adverse events with study subjects, and facilitating communication between the study sponsor and TriHealth IRB.
•  Assesses potential subjects for inclusion and exclusion criteria. Maintains complete and thorough Case Report Forms using IRB and FDA standards. Supports hospital staff in complying with research protocols and minimizes impact on their workload. Responds accurately and promptly to all queries and maintains accurate and detailed follow-up schedules to meet regulatory time points. Maintains study data and performs intermittent analysis.

Serves as the contact for all internal and external customers, including external compounding pharmacies, and maintains knowledge of external pharmaceutical regulations. Maintains study data, performs analysis, assists with presentation materials, and develops posters for presentation and/or manuscripts for publication.
