Job Description:

As an affiliate of the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Hurley Medical Center - a 457-bed public teaching hospital in Flint, Mich. - is seeking an energetic and dynamic individual to join its Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Training Program.

The position is for both the ambulatory clinic and inpatient settings.

The candidate must be board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. This academic position involves teaching resident physicians and participating as an active faculty member in the residency program. Hurley faculty members may apply for an academic appointment with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine at a rank commensurate with experience.

Candidates must have strong interpersonal, teamwork, communication, and tech-savvy skills and a willingness to work with an urban population.

This position is eligible for Federal Student Loan Forgiveness.

Hurley Medical Center uses Epic EMR and was named top Smart Hospital in the state.

A competitive compensation and benefits plan is offered, including a continuing medical education allowance, 4 weeks of vacation and up to 10 days of CME.

Hurley Medical Center is a 457-bed, public teaching hospital in Flint, Mich. Affiliated with Michigan State University, University of Michigan, and others, the tertiary-care hospital serves as the primary training site for >100 Hurley/MSU College of Human Medicine resident physicians and >100 Flint-based medical students. It is the care-referral site for mid- and northeastern Michigan, with a catchment area of more than 1 million people. The infectious diseases clinic is on site at the main hospital.
