Description

The Academic Coach will focus on providing academic advising and support for first year students and help support the academic development of our new students by providing comprehensive support to students from enrollment through completion of their first year.
Examples of Duties

Understand and disseminate information related to the core curriculum and academic requirements at New College of Florida.
Serve as a collaborative academic coach for a cohort of students (from time of deposit through completion of education).Provide timely and accurate academic coaching to assigned caseload of students.
Participate in large and small group sessions with students.
Facilitate 1 on 1 appointments with students (face-to-face or remote).Facilitate course registration each semester with collaboration with various departments
(e.g. faculty academic advisors) to determine proper course sequencing.
Support academic programming during new student orientation in the fall and spring semesters.Collaborate with and support team members on projects on behalf of the Office of New Student Programs.
Work closely with the Director of New Student Programs on student retention efforts regarding the academic program.
Help students understand the academic program, work effectively with their faculty advisors, and register for coursesOther duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree and 1 year of experience in Higher Education or Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience in higher education
Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working directly with Academic Coaching. Strong record of leadership. Excellent communication and collaborative teamwork skills.
