Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary:The Ferguson College of Agriculture is looking for applicants to join our new team of Academic Advisors at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. You will play a crucial role in guiding undergraduate students through their academic journeys and connecting them with the resources they need to succeed. As a Ferguson College academic advisor, you will be part of an academic community dedicated to fostering a student-focused culture and achieving student success goals.This position advises students concerning program inquiries, students' academic plans and progress, academic schedule, choice of major, and other academic activities and career goals. Academic advisors are expected to proactively reach out to students in various situations to offer support, and to assist students in making decisions concerning personal educational goals leading to graduation. Successful candidates will possess a balance of social skills to develop meaningful connections with students, attention to detail to provide accurate information, an understanding of academic policies and procedures, and a commitment to creating a welcoming environment.Selected candidates will participate in professional development activities, including on-campus and off-campus workshops, webinars, and conferences and serve on University committees as needed.
