Summary:Retail Leads are responsible for implementing daily cashier responsibilities relating to guest experience in the Gift Shop including POS transactions, line control and organization. The position also assists the rest of the team's management to ensure proper departmental policies and procedures are being followed by Retail Specialists.
What you'll do: - Ensure proper cash handling operations are being followed by cashiers in the Gift Shop including opening/closing banks, credit card and gift card reconciliation.
- Support cashiers on the sales floor, including returns and exchanges, price overrides and change requests, providing a fast and friendly experience at point of sale.
- Communicate with Retail Supervisor to ensure all POS stations are staffed during peak business hours and be available as a cashier when necessary.
- Support inventory operations, including receiving shipments, executing cycle counts, entering damages, maintaining the cleanliness of stockroom areas, and ensuring gift shop visual merchandising standards are consistently maintained.
- Create daily line and break schedules
- Support crane and penny press operations by maintaining machine stock and communicating issues to Retail Supervisor
- Assist with coaching, counseling, and development of cashier staff.
- Act as retail point of contact in the absence of the Retail Supervisor.
What you'll bring: - High School Diploma, preferred but not required
- 1+ years of leadership experience
- 2 years in retail or customer service experience preferred
- Friendly, outgoing, and proactive individual
- Cash handling experience
- Ability to work weekends and holidays with occasional evenings
