Job Summary

Position is responsible for coaching student athletes in volleyball techniques to prepare them for events. Position motivates student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport.

Essential Duties
  • Works with volleyball players during practices and events.
  • Assesses skills and assigns team positions.
  • Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide team development.
  • Works with the athletic director in scheduling facilities for practices.
  • Coaches and instructs players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations equipment, and techniques of the sport.
  • Observes players, during events and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and provides proper supervision of students at all times.
  • Follows established procedures in the event of an injury.
  • Follows state, regional, and district regulations governing the program.
  • Models good sportsmanship behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
  • Participates in special activities that may include parent's night, banquets, award nights, and etc.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
  • Some experience as a volleyball coach preferred.
  • Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.
  • Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.
  • Must complete and pass a full criminal background check
  • Must complete/meet all requirements of the employee hiring process. This is an EDUStaff position, unless you are a Manchester Community School employee.
