This position will be teaching our Art in Motion class, an interdisciplinary program that combines visual arts with movement-based activities, such as dance, creative movement, or performance art. The focus is on exploring how art and movement intersect, allowing students to express themselves both visually and physically.
•  Exploring Movement Through Art: Students create visual art inspired by movement (e.g., painting to music, drawing while dancing, or making sculptures that move).
•  Translating Art into Dance: Students observe works of art, study art history, culture and interpret them through creative movement or dance, embodying shapes, lines, and emotions.
•  Learning About Kinetic Art: Introduction to artists who use motion in their work (like mobiles or interactive installations) and creating their own moving artworks.
•  Color Theory and Composition in Nature: Students will venture outdoors and connect color theories, compositions, their relationships, and observe how they occur naturally in the world around us. Activities include color wheel hunts, observational drawings, cyanotype photograms, composition games and more.
•  Developing Creativity and Expression: Encouraging students to use both their bodies and artistic skills to tell stories, explore emotions, and solve creative challenges. Art in Motion is a dynamic, hands-on class that nurtures creativity, self-expression, and collaboration by blending the worlds of visual art and movement.
