Senior 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire UK

Security Clearance Level: High -DV 'Developed Vetting'

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our 3rd Line Service Operations team. The role involves working collaboratively with colleagues and our customer in a critical LAN/WAN environment. The engineer will deliver technical services within a dynamic ITIL framework and incorporate Agile change delivery.

WHAT SETS YOU APART:

  • Extensive experience with Windows Server infrastructure at an enterprise level.
  • Proficiency with RedHat Linux OS and general Linux support skills.
  • Experience managing and maintaining VMWare virtualized environments.
  • Deployment and support of Hyper Converged Infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of storage technologies such as NetApp & Dell, including troubleshooting.
  • Active Directory management within on-premise environments.
  • Development of customer desktop builds with bespoke/legacy applications.
  • Application packaging and deployment skills.
  • Experience managing and supporting Microsoft Exchange (from 2013 onwards).
  • Knowledge of MS SQL Server, SQL Database Clustering, and Veeam Backup technology.
  • Experience with Ivanti Device & Application Control.
  • Patch management skills, including analysis and deployment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Experience with ITIL ICT service delivery and SAFE Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
  • Understanding stakeholder management and organizational skills.
  • Quick learner with adaptability to new technologies and skills.
  • Previous experience in business or safety-critical environments.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS THAT ARE A PLUS:

  • Experience with F5 Load Balancing technology.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with VMWare Horizon VDI solutions.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • High-level clearance is required or must be obtained.
  • Position based at a customer site in Huntingdon, UK.
  • Willingness to travel to the customer site as needed.
