Position Summary:
Were seeking dependable individuals who can follow safety procedures and efficiently handle shipping-related tasks. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate overhead cranes and forklifts according to safety regulations
Recognize different types of steel and understand vendor-specific qualities; report concerns as needed
Learn and navigate our internal ERP system
Visually inspect materials and verify details in the ERPdetermine if items are purchased, for customer processing, or need to be rejected
Take ID/OD samples for lab testing to confirm material type and specifications
Weigh and organize steel products using safe material handling techniques in designated areas
Load and unload trucks safely using forklift or overhead crane
Wear proper PPE at all times and follow lock-out/tag-out procedures when required
Qualifications:
Able to read and write clearly
Comfortable using a tape measure
Physically capable of standing or walking for most of the shift (90%)
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Experience in a steel processing facility, shipping department, or similar industrial setting is preferred but not required
