2nd Line Support / Field Engineer

We are working in partnership with one of our fantastic clients who are looking for an experienced 2nd Line Support / Field Engineer to join them on a permanent basis.

The client is ideally looking for someone with MSP experience. The successful candidate should have a strong technical background as well as soft skills to manage multiple clients simultaneously.

Job Role

This role is within the IT engineering team and involves hybrid support, including onsite support, remote support, and installation services for SME customers. The successful candidate will rotate between these disciplines for both new and existing clients. The role is primarily based at the London office near Waterloo, where you will be part of the ServiceDesk team, serving as the single point of contact for all IT-related queries. Responsibilities include coordinating maintenance of hardware, software, peripherals, and resolving IT issues.

Key Skills
  • High-level 2nd line IT support skills and troubleshooting abilities
  • Experience in an MSP or similar role providing desk-side and remote support to users with varying computer literacy levels
  • Experience installing, configuring, and supporting desktops/laptops and peripherals (printers, smartphones, tablets)
  • Knowledge and experience with Google Workspace; experience with Microsoft 365 is a plus
  • Experience managing tablets/mobiles and Windows 10/11 devices with Intune or similar tools
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and MAC OS
  • Basic networking skills including LAN, WAN, VPN, routers, and firewalls
  • Problem-solving skills in a technical environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
