Description

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk performs a wide variety of tasks involved in the shipping and/or receiving of materials, supplies, and equipment. Shipping/Receiving clerk will also support Operations in the movement of material and supplies, issue parts to/from the manufacturing floor, and properly identify material.

Essential Functions:
  • Check all inbound materials and verify accuracy with pack lists and purchase orders to ensure shipments are received into inventory accurately.

• Locate appropriate locations for inbound materials and adjust inventory accordingly.

• Deliver all related paperwork to the designated area on the same day.

• Performs all functions of each role within the company guidelines of safety.

• Maintains warehouse and work area in a clean and orderly manner.

• Keeps supervisor, production, and/or purchasing team informed of any problems related to shortages or discrepancies.

• Perform tasks by following work instructions and procedures for each area.

• Operates a fork truck in a safe manner and follows all safety rules and procedures.

• Ensure proper forklift charging policies are being followed and operator logs are completed daily.

• Loads and unloads trucks following all safety rules, standards, and procedures.

• Examine all inbound and outbound freight to ensure shipments meet specifications.

• Pull materials from stock to be assigned to the manufacturing floor as requested.

• Transport product between facilities safely and secure.

• Remove trash and recycling from the building.

• Monitor appropriate reports to ensure priority material is delivered to the correct location in a timely manner.

• Ensure the correct inventory counts are maintained by the performance of Cycle Counts and complete a thorough investigation of any discrepancies found while Cycle Counting

• Identify and research inventory issues using all available inquiries within the computerized system.

• Supports the Mission of the organization and adheres to all company policies.

• Demonstrate discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professionalism when representing the company.

• May need to perform other duties, as directions are given by management.

Position Qualifications:

• High school Diploma or GED; 3+ years of shipping or receiving experience in materials/warehouse.

• Must have strong ability to identify components.

• Effective multi-tasking skills and the ability to take on additional responsibilities as required.

• Effective organization and prioritization skills

• Effective interpersonal skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Previous use of RF scanners preferred.

• Possesses basic math and computer skills.

• Previous inventory and forklift experience required.

• Must be self-driven to complete tasks on schedule with minimal supervision.

• Attention to detail.

• Strong emphasis on safety, quality, and productivity
