Lead Press Operator

We are seeking experienced, motivated Lead Press Operators to lead and grow the Press Teams at our Sheridan Random Lake location just north of Milwaukee, WI. Your Mission: You will lead an assigned web press team to produce printed materials of the highest quality that meet or exceed our customers' expectations.
What You Will Do:- Lead: As a Lead Press Operator you take responsibility for your assigned press team, operations and products on a day to day basis. You know how to create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment with your team to drive outstanding results through mentoring, training and guiding new team members in your craft and the print process.
- Ensure a Quality Product, Every Time: Assess preliminary needs and job specifications prior to the product run. During the print cycle you will assess trims, alignment, correctness of folds, ink quality, color quality and clarity . Identify and remediate quality issues appropriately and on a timely basis to minimize rework. Contribute to Continuous Improvement/Lean initiatives.
- Think Safety: perform job in manner that protects your health and safety and the health and safety of all employees in the workplace and identify any potential or existing hazards, risks or gaps.
- Inform and Document: Prepare key production data and records for all jobs; working cross functionally with customer service, quality and other teams as needed.
- Troubleshoot: Notify supervisor if and when press time or product quality is impacted; perform routine and ad-hoc maintenance and partner with Maintenance team as needed.
What you Bring:- Minimum of 2 years leading a web press team with a a minimum of high school diploma with technical, vocational/apprentice training preferable, or the equivalent combination of experience and education.
- You understand the print process - from prepress to production and delivery.
- You are a leader - leading through influence, learning and role modelling.
- You communicate well - verbally and in writing.
- Quality Mindset: Excellent eye for detail, and color with a passion for quality; ideally you have had some experience or training in Continuous Improvement/Lean processes.
- Data minded: you can read and interpret standard documents and reports e.g. safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. You can write routine reports and correspondence, and can speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, etc.
- Basic computer knowledge related to press operation; experience with MS Suite an asset.
