Job Details
A growing multi-state litigation firm is seeking a First-Party Insurance Defense Attorney to join their Kingwood, Texas office. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team that values a positive work-life balance, professional growth, and delivering strong results for clients in the property and casualty insurance space.
Key Responsibilities:
Defend insurers in first-party property claims and litigation, including homeowners' policy disputes.
Conduct depositions, site inspections, and engage in court appearances.
Argue motions, draft pleadings and legal memoranda, and assist with mediations and trials.
Work closely with clients and team members to develop case strategies.
Maintain current knowledge of applicable case law, statutes, and insurance regulations.
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed in Texas.
2-5+ years of litigation experience, ideally in first-party property insurance defense.
Strong deposition, motion practice, and courtroom experience.
Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
Solid academic credentials (Top 25% of class preferred).
Collaborative, proactive, and client-focused work ethic.
Familiarity with inspections and claim documentation is a plus.
