Are you a resilient, empathetic, and committed Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to support a student who needs consistent, 1:1 support?
Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a specialist Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) school to recruit a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 9 pupil with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. This full-time position starts in July 2025 and runs for the entire academic year, with the possibility of extension.
About the Role:
Working 1:1 with a Year 9 pupil to provide behavioural and emotional support
Supporting the pupil's learning and helping them engage with the curriculum
Managing challenging behaviours and promoting positive routines
Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and support staff in a well-resourced setting
Implementing strategies from the pupil's behaviour and support plan
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, ASC, or challenging behaviour
A calm, patient, and consistent approach with strong emotional resilience
The ability to build a trusting, supportive relationship with the student
Confidence in using behaviour de-escalation techniques (Team Teach or equivalent training is desirable)
A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs
