SEND Teaching Assistant required in Worcester

TeacherActive work closely with a well-respected, mainstream Secondary School in Worcester, who are looking for a Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting children with Autism, to join them after them in September 2025. The school are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who can support on a 1-1 basis for at least the first term of the academic year. There is a potential for this to be extended.
The role will be full time. 3 days will be working with KS3 and 4, and 2 days will be working with KS5. The successful application must be comfortable supporting all ages groups.
The role will include:
- Offering students additional support on a 1-1 basis
- Supporting small groups of students
- Supporting with diverse learning needs
- Experience support secondary aged students who have Autism
- Providing guidance and encouragement
- Providing individualised and flexible support
- Understanding and implementing behavioural management strategies
- Helping create and maintain and positive working environment
- Liaising with the class teacher and SENDCo, SLT, parent s or carers when appropriate
- Monitoring student's progress
Roles requirements:
- At least 12 months experience supporting children who have Autism
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with students and staff
- Flexibility
- A calm nature and someone who can think quickly on their feet
- Patience and understanding
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent behavioural management skills
- Availability to work 8:30-3:30 term time
