ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensures the safety and security of the juveniles placed within the secure detention program through the constant and alert supervision of all activities taking place within the secure detention program. Shall perform routine housekeeping duties as directed by established policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure the overall cleanliness of the secure detention program. Shall make every reasonable effort to identify and defuse problematic situations before such situations reach crisis proportions, and shall respond, as directed by policies, procedures and guidelines, to crisis situations occurring within the secure detention program, Position Youth Care Worker - Full-time Position Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Possess a minimum of a high school diploma, or its equivalent, and be at least 21 years of age. Prior experience in working with youths, either professionally or on a volunteer basis. WORKING CONDITIONS: The following is a list of the various working conditions that are required at this position. Confined areas (i.e. vehicles). Public meetings or courtrooms.
