We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Workers' Compensation Attorney specializing in Defense Base Act cases to join our esteemed legal team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile cases, providing expert legal advice and representation to clients involved in maritime, harbor, longshore, and war hazards compensation cases. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a passion for justice, a deep understanding of workers' compensation laws and regulations, and a proven track record of successful defenses in the Defense Base Act cases.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal counsel and representation to clients involved in Defense Base Act cases, including those related to maritime, longshore, harbor and war hazards compensation.
- Conduct comprehensive case research and develop strategic defense plans to achieve optimal outcomes for our clients.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Appear in court for trials, hearings, arbitrations, and mediations on behalf of the client.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Defense Base Act, the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, the War Hazards Compensation Act, and the Longshore & Harbor Workers' Compensation Act.
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure effective and efficient case management.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Workers' Compensation Attorney, with a focus on Defense Base Act cases.
- Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the State Bar.
- Strong knowledge of the Defense Base Act, the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, the War Hazards Compensation Act, and the Longshore & Harbor Workers' Compensation Act.
- Excellent negotiation, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of successful defenses in Defense Base Act cases.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, judges, and opposing counsel.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.
