POSITION PURPOSE

As the Workday Project Manager, play a pivotal role in driving the evolution of HR technology within our organization. Leading a team, spearhead the functional configuration and project management of Workday, ensuring seamless alignment with business needs and priorities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Management:
  • Determine the direction and define enhancements for the entire HRIS application portfolio, including benefits, talent acquisition, talent management, onboarding, training, performance management, and compensation.
  • The Workday Product Manager manages the product roadmap, covering projects, enhancements, bug fixes, and semi-annual Workday releases.
  • This individual will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and system owner, overseeing the overall Workday landscape, strategy, and governance.

Project Management:
  • Lead end-to-end implementation projects for Workday HRIS, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and objectives.
  • Develop project scope, goals, and deliverables, and coordinate resources, tasks, and milestones for successful project execution.
  • Monitor product health and success metrics, driving continuous improvement.

Leader:
  • Guide and mentor a team of 1-2 individuals, fostering collaboration and motivation towards project objectives.
  • Collaborate effectively within a matrixed environment, engaging with diverse peers and project teams.
  • Communicate project objectives clearly and coordinate team activities efficiently to meet milestones.
  • Take charge of technical projects, ensuring successful management and leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

Functional Configuration:
  • Collaborate with HR stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement system configurations that align with business needs.

Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Engage with HR leaders and key stakeholders to understand needs and priorities, translating them into system requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops and user feedback sessions to gather input and promote user adoption.

Data Governance:
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to maintain data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Quality Assurance and Testing:
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate system configurations, integrations, and functionality enhancements.
  • Conduct system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and regression testing to ensure system quality, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Utilize reporting tools to monitor data integration points and optimize processes

Continuous Improvement:
  • Monitor system performance and industry trends to identify opportunities for optimization and process improvements.
  • Lead initiatives to drive continuous improvement of Workday HRIS functionality and user experience.

Vendor Management and Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with Workday representatives and external consultants to address technical issues and coordinate system upgrades.

User Support and Training:
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting assistance, and training to HR users, administrators, and stakeholders on Workday HRIS functionality.
  • Develop and maintain user documentation, training materials, and knowledge base resources for Workday HRIS users.

Change Management and Release Planning:
  • Coordinate with HR leadership, change management teams, and system users to plan and execute system updates and new feature releases.
  • Communicate change impacts, schedule maintenance windows, and manage user expectations throughout the change management process.
  • Manage deployment and testing of system patches and new releases.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-cultural organization with international members, helping them achieve excellence in voluntary roles for YPO initiatives.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading, with meticulous attention to detail. Adjusts communication style appropriately to the audience.
  • Professional presence, appearance, and stature to interact easily with YPO members, C-level executives, and peers at all levels within the organization.
  • Able to easily adapt to new technology platforms and processes.

EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND

Required:
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with Workday HCM.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with at least 2 years leading Workday HCM projects and workstreams.
  • Proven track record of leading at least one end-to-end Workday HCM implementation project.
  • In-depth understanding of HR processes, system configuration, and project management methodologies.
  • Strong leadership skills, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams and executive stakeholders.

Preferred:
  • Experience working in a global environment.
  • Experience with PRISM (highly desired)
  • Track record of successfully managing Agile development projects.
  • Certifications in Workday: HCM Core, Performance and Talent, Recruiting, Reporting, Security.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work Eastern Time or Central Time Preferred:
  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours as needed to accommodate members and team members in multiple time zones.
  • Ability to work for extended hours at a computer screen.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, domestically and internationally, without restrictions, approximately 5% per year.
