Work Assistant (Waiting Room Child Care) We are looking to fill positions in Stratford, NJ and Vineland, NJ. SUMMARY: Waiting Room Child Care position is a critical position for the New Jersey CARES Institute staff. Much of our success is possible because we are able to provide a safe and friendly environment for children while their caregivers are meeting with the physicians or therapists. The Waiting Room Child Care position helps us accomplish this by providing quality child care in the waiting room and by maintaining a safe, friendly environment for children and their caregivers. Provides a positive and enjoyable atmosphere in the waiting area with a focus on maintaining clear personal boundaries and physical safety at all times. The Waiting Room Child Care position is also expected to occasionally answer the telephone and other clerical duties as assigned which may include, photocopying, filing, collation of non-confidential and/or confidential documents, data entry of confidential information, etc. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Provides quality childcare in the waiting area of the Institute by maintaining a safe, friendly, positive environment for children and their caregivers. Provides focus on maintaining clear personal boundaries and physical safety at all times. The Waiting Room Child Care position is expected to interact with children and families in a professional manner and to follow the CARES Institute's policies and guidelines for proper supervision of children. Attends periodic Waiting Room Child Care meetings/trainings at the Institute. Answers the telephone and performs other clerical duties as assigned which may include photocopying, filing, collation of non-confidential and confidential documents, data entry of confidential information, etc. Understands and adheres to Rowan University's compliance standards as they appear in Rowan University's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School graduate or equivalent. Hours will vary according to the hours of operation: Monday and Friday 8:30am-5:00pm; Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:30am-8:30pm. Experience working with children or college credits with a major in psychology, social work, education, or other social service field is preferred.
