Responsibilities Provide clinical services in coordination with the substance use disorder treatment team consistent with Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation's Standards of Care. Provide clinical coaching, as assigned, to students and interns to facilitate development of clinical competency and ethical practice. Provide services in the areas of fitness, exercise, stress management, lifestyle balance, and leisure counseling to patients through a variety of methods to ensure the development of skills necessary for a sober life style. This is accomplished through fitness instruction, groups, lectures, stress management groups and other services. As a Wellness Specialist, you will: Provide Wellness groups on assigned units Participate in the recovery services lecture series. Follow protocol of starting on time, introducing self and lecture topic, maintaining an outline of material covered on file, and following recommendations of the lecture committee. Provide documentation within documentation standards, (Including but not limited to), documenting patient progress through the use of patient progress/group notes and other documentation methods. Provide patient orientations and supervision of exercise room and pool. Provide educational prescriptive wellness groups in the areas of; chronic pain, sleep hygiene, and tobacco recovery as outlined by clinical standards. Assure a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, guests and visitors in accordance with Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation Policy and Procedures. Qualifications Required Bachelor's Degree Previous experience in chemical dependency or a therapeutic recreation setting Have or be working toward a current AFAA Personal Fitness Training Certification within 3 months of hire date CPR certification or attain within 30 days Certification must be from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Preferred Master's Degree Min USD $24.40/Hr.
