Wellness Immunization Clinic Nurse (LPN) ApplyRefer a FriendBack Job Details Requisition : 193049 Location: Bear, DE 19701 Category: LPN/LVN Salary: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour Position Details Job Overview Aveanna Healthcare, the heart of caring for patients in the wellness and immunization line of business, is seeking nurses i.e. Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse to work per-diem assignments for wellness and immunization clinics. The wellness/immunization clinic nurse performs biometric screenings and immunizations at Aveanna Healthcare clinics. Job Responsibilities: Assisting with setup and break-down of wellness clinics Transporting CLIA Waived point of care testing device(s) (POCT) and sharps containers Quality control testing and calibration of CLIA Waived point of care testing device(s) (POCT) Assisting with completion of consent forms Completion of biometric screenings (operation of CLIA Waived point of care testing device(s) (POCT) i.e. cholesterol, glucose, Hgb-A1c, blood pressure, height, weight, body fat%/BMI, Osteoporosis T-Score, Dermaview, hip-waist ratio, cotinine, COVID-19 rapid testing, spirometry testing, genetic testing, prostate specific antigen, C-reactive screening Proficient in fingerstick technique and if applicable, phlebotomy Maintains compliance with wellness specific policies and procedures Assisting patients in clinical research organizations Reporting of incidents and/or injuries/needle sticks Proper biohazardous waste utilization , transport and disposal Maintains appropriate infection control standards and precautions Proper utilization of PPE IMMUNIZATION CLINIC NURSE: Assisting with setup and break-down of wellness/immunization clinics. Transporting vaccine(s) and sharps Assisting with completion of immunization consent forms Proficient in intramuscular injection technique and subcutaneous injection technique Administer vaccines (per manufacturer instructions), and educates clients and caregivers about age specific immunizations, precautions/contraindications and possible adverse reactions Transport of vaccine(s) and maintaining the cold chain Proper biohazardous waste transport and disposal Maintains appropriate infection control standards and precautions Maintains compliance with wellness specific policies and procedures Emergency management i.e., adverse reactions, anaphylaxis. Administration of epinephrine per physician order Reporting of incidents and/or injuries/needle sticks Proper biohazardous waste process/protocols Proper utilization of PPE Minimum Requirements: Active and in good standing nursing license i.e. Registered nurse, Licensed practical nurse, Licensed vocational nurse Meets professional nursing standards and pertinent local, state, and federal requirements Strong therapeutic communication skills Preferred administrative data entry work experience, but not required Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Flexibility and timeliness in completing assigned tasks Physical Requirements: Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English Must be able to travel up to 30 miles, 10% of the time Must be able to lift 50 pounds Must complete OSHA Respiratory Protection Program: i.e. N-95 respirator, face shields/goggles, gloves, gowns and if applicable, shoe coverings. Must be able to sufficiently move equipment without assistance. Must be able to sustain prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting. Must be able to sit and climb stairs. Must have visual and hearing acuity. Environment Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases.
