We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Well Performance Specialist - Production within our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management, Delaware Basin business unit based in Midland, TX. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for the overall coordination of well downhole activities as well as monitoring all aspects of well performance. Responsibilities include monitoring well daily performance, troubleshooting hardware and downhole problems, initiating repair activities on surface and downhole, and working closely with a cross-functional team to optimize all wells to ensure maximum efficiency and cost effective performance. Other areas of focus include reducing failure frequency, operations economics, improving well integrity, and accurate data reporting. Essential Job Responsibilities: Responsible for introduction of new technology and applications associated with well optimization Takes ownership of well failures within RMT (problem well list) Coordinates IST (failure analysis) meeting Takes lead on type of lift method used Run diagnostic programs for artificial lift Review lift equipment for well reviews Evaluate economics of artificial lift installations Respond to emergency artificial lift situations (unexpected circumstances) Proactively plan artificial lift strategy and coordinate implementation Work with Engineers to size equipment for new wells Witnesses pump tear downs and helps with RCFA Qualifications: Minimum high school diploma or G.E.D. Ability to read and analyze data to identify trends and generate effective solutions Effective communication skills; demonstrated ability to lead efforts to coordinate problem solving and reviews with other team members Proficient computer skills in Microsoft programs, NEXUS, LOWIS Proven capability to calculate economics and perform cost analysis Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills Occidental is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
