Job DescriptionPrimary Responsibilities:
- Enters incoming repairs/customer items into INFOR system. Includes item type, work needed, materials needed, special instructions, etc.
- Closes completed shop orders by relieving used materials, i.e. order/kit fulfillment, in inventory in Great Plains system in timely manner.
- Does adjustments to inventory for parts used in shop (not on work orders).
- Enters data for quantities of parts/items issued and transferred between locations, inventory and cycle count adjustments, into Great Plains database.
- Tracks scrap (wire, parts, etc.) and submits for system adjustments.
- Updates/maintains wire inventory kept on technician trucks.
- Updates/maintains consignment wire inventory list.
- Alerts responsible Sales Manager/associate when minimum level is reached.
- Reports to shortages, overages and all levels of inventory to CFO monthly
- Ensures minimum levels are maintained.
- Conducts cycle counts of all inventory at least twice a year
- Cycle counts of high use items should be done quarterly.
- Coordinates complete inventory count once a year.
- Responsible for quality control. No damaged product is sent out. No damaged raw material is accepted in. Performs final inspection of outgoing shipments/deliveries.
- Ensures monthly shop safety inspections are done and recorded. Includes LO/TO, cranes, fire extinguishers, etc.
- Trains technicians on forklift usage and safety.
- Ensures that incoming and outgoing items are stored in designated areas.
- Ensures proper storage and handling of the received stock.
- Maintains appropriate equipment and racking to ensure safe transport and storage of all materials.
- Responsible for cleanliness and proper organization of the warehouse area, including stock rooms.
- Follows company procedures for paperwork (completion, filing, distribution, etc.).
- Operates forklift or hand truck to move rolls, items to working or shipping area.
- Turns off and locks out equipment when not in use.
- Assists warehouse and shop associates as needed
- Fills in for Shop and Field Service Manager if necessary.
Knowledge/Skills:
- HSD or GED equivalent
- Basic ready, writing and arithmetic skills required.
- Minimum 5 years experience in warehouse and inventory control as well as shipping and receiving.
- Basic knowledge of using and operating warehouse machinery and equipment.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Data entry skills.
- Experience with barcoding system preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, externally as well as internally.
- Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards.
- Must have 3 to 5 years experience with a major ERP system (SAP, INFOR ,NetSuite etc.)
