About the Opportunity

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing the ELGi North America business' Charlotte warehouse, inventory, and shipping functions. This includes oversight of timely product ordering, receipt, and shipping to meet targeted customer satisfaction levels and internal service level agreements. This role liaises with a variety of ELGI's global internal and external stakeholders. This individual has 6-7 direct reports.

Primary responsibilities are to:

  • Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve efficient goals; design better processes to improve workflow and define structure (SOPs).
  • Monitor workplace KPIs and lead training initiatives to improve employee performance.
  • Monitor day-to-day activities to ensure that inbound receipts, container offloading, LTL shipping, UPS shipping and other regular activities are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure Warehouse Cleanliness (5S)
  • Foster a safety-first culture.
  • Manage inventory
    • Conduct cycle counts as per finance department guidance for inventory accuracy.
    • Design and implement a fool proof FIFO system for inventory.
    • Management of aging inventory (ex: Motors, airends, etc.)
    • Implementation of Bar-coding facility
  • Maintain Shipping/Receiving
    • Make sure orders are being shipped out in a quick and accurate manner.
    • Ensure that we partner with the right vendors for inbound and outbound logistics.
    • Budget and manage freight revenue, cost, and gross margin.
  • Forklift Training/Safety; managing warehouse employees to ensure they are properly trained on forklifts for putting materials up, as well as pulling them down to restock shelves, and for pulling materials for Production.
  • PO Receipts (HO, Local Vendors)
    • Inbound materials in a quick and efficient manner to be able to get units/parts out in a timely manner. Make sure that items are checked and verified based off the packing list(s) provided by the vendor.
    • Inbound materials into ERP system and communicate to Customer Service Team/Production Planner to ensure that materials go out in a timely manner

About You

The Warehouse & Shipping Manager opportunity may be a match for you if you have the following required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, or relevant experience

  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in a warehouse and shipping management role

  • Demonstrated management skills with an ability to apply best management practices and techniques, including holding performance conversations, setting goals, training, etc.

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (excel skills to build basic models, analytics, and reports)

  • Ability to influence people, take initiative, prioritize tasks, develop a plan, and own the implementation.

  • Strong planning and organization skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
