These individuals have completed the 8 hour online certification course and pass facility competency skills checklist. Qualifications: Education : High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Licenses/Certification: Pass 8 hour online certification course Pass facility competency skills checklist Essential Functions: Perform tasks under the direct supervision of a nurse or independently if competency is validated Competency areas are Personal safety and Emergency Care Documentation and Core Nursing Skills Positioning, Moving and Restorative Care Nutrition and Elimination Advanced and Specialty Care Environments Comfort Care and End of Life Assists residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair, and incontinence care. Obtains food trays and assists residents with feeding. Assists resident with turning and positioning in bed Assists resident with ambulation for short distance in facility. Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed. Performs other tasks as assigned Reports to Charge Nurse or designee on progress/lack of progress in achieving restorative goals. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations. Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and facility staff.
