Pediatric Associates is the largest outpatient pediatric group in the nation. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Regional Medical Director to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for oversight and continuous improvement of the direct patient care provided by clinicians within the northeast region. Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the Senior Regional Medical Director will be accountable for maximizing overall clinical value while engaging physicians/APPs to improve clinical quality, efficiency, outcomes, and clinician/patient satisfaction. The Senior Regional Medical Director will provide patient care 2 days per week and the other 3 days per week in management.

  • Patient care will be provided at one of the Children's Medical Group locations in the Hudson Valley
  • Responsible for the overall quality and care of clinical services provided in the multi-state region.
  • Collaborates with various teams to develop and execute medical and quality initiatives, enhancing patient care, engaging clinicians, and maintaining accreditation standards.
  • Assures all platform and state practices operate within the clinical quality, care, and safety guidelines of the Enterprise as well as federal/regional/state guidelines and national best practices.
  • Manages the growth and advancement of the clinician workforce across the area.
  • Approves and monitors the measures and standards for clinician performance. Implements programs that effectively develop, align, and engage the highest caliber of clinicians.
  • Regional Operational Dyad Leadership is tasked with coordinating, approving, and overseeing office standards to ensure the highest quality of care, along with delivering value, efficiency, and exceptional service to patients. They are accountable for meeting the clinical and operational objectives set for the assigned states and regions.
  • Manages regional clinician operations budgets to meet goals, approves staffing standards, and oversees scheduling within regions.
  • Represents the regions on clinician committees appointed by the Board and the CMO, including the Enterprise Physician Advisory Board (PAB), Clinician Advisory Committee (CAC), and others, approving clinical standards and policy for the region and Enterprise.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution, with board certification in pediatrics.
  • Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience, with a proven track record of progressive leadership in healthcare management or administration.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with fiscal accountability and budgeting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including strategic planning, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis, clinical epidemiology, and medical informatics
  • Understanding of pediatric best practices and how to successfully introduce performance management initiatives into clinical practice.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization preferred.
  • Ability to travel within the region as needed.

Licensure/Certification:

  • This position requires an active medical license in the applicable State and good standing with the state's Board of Medicine and Pediatric Board Certification - American Board of Medical Specialties.
  • Within 9 months of assuming the position and/or acquiring new platform states, the incumbent is expected to be licensed in all applicable states within the region supervised and maintain active licensure in any states assigned during their tenure.
