Role Summary/Purpose

We are looking for a customer and partner obsessed Product Manager that is focused on delivering best in class products within the equal payments and installment lending marketplace. As a critical member of the Product organization, the Secured Installment Product Manager is responsible for owning the customer need while developing and leading the product roadmap to achieve our customer, partner and business objectives. This includes being the customer, market and product subject matter expert, using data to find opportunities and gain alignment with the organization and key stakeholders, while leading the development of technology-driven, innovative solutions and enhancements. This Product Manager is comfortable with ambiguity, can operate in a fast moving, agile environment, is a team player that collaborates well cross functionally and acts as an owner, proactively taking initiative, including working on other strategic opportunities beyond Secured Installment.

This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. We're proud to offer you choice and flexibility.


Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, and drive Synchrony's Secured Installment product across all platforms. Create and drive the vision and roadmap of innovative new capabilities to keep the business as an industry leader in the space while owning the product P&L.
  • Partner closely with the Lifestyle platform, supporting product development and strategy for client development, specifically driving growth within the Powersports, Power Equipment, and Music businesses. Collaborate with commercial leaders to identify other partners/verticals for expansion where relevant.
  • Leverage an "outside in" perspective to align product roadmap to both the customer and partner needs, trends in the industry and a rapidly changing competitive environment.
  • Partner with cross functional teams, including technology to drive efficiency, growth and commercialization of the product across the franchise. This includes developing and promoting how this innovation is meeting the rapidly changing needs of our business, partners and customers by telling the story internally, and externally with our partners and industry.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing on the marketing and positioning for your product.
  • Proactively engage with Compliance and Legal to ensure adherence with all external and internal compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and report on key metrics for the products to assess the success of the product and features and determine necessary enhancements.
  • Strong communication skillset and executive presence is key - frequent meetings with Clients, Client teams and senior leadership.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and 10 years of marketing or product experience in the credit card or financial services industries
  • Minimum of 8 years marketing or product experience that includes:
    • A proven track record of launching new products or applications with demonstrated business impact
    • Ability to influence and coordinate multi-functional teams
    • Experience delivering formal communications to senior business leaders and/or key external business partners.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Payments, BNPL, installment lending, secured / collateralized lending, credit card, consumer finance or financial services industry experience.
  • Experience within installment loan marketplaces and understand of latest customer experiences, features, enhancements, news, trends in this space.
  • Experience leading strategies targeted toward big ticket purchases and higher average order value, including within Powersports, Auto, or other verticals with fragmented merchant dealer.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex initiatives and projects in a matrixed environment.
  • Outstanding communications, relationship building, influencing and collaboration skills.
  • Strategic thinking with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results.
  • 10+ years marketing or product innovation/management experience
  • 5+ years managing people and teams
  • Strong background working with clients, reporting on performance and delivering results.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions in a fast-changing environment.
  • P&L experience with solid understanding of business financials
  • Current on financial services, payments industry trends, competitors, emerging technologies and companies
  • Strong technical knowledge (financial services)
  • Product commercialization experience, marketing and communications expertise

The salary range for this position is 150 000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.


Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.


Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.






Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • N ew hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
