About the Role

We've invested heavily in building the connectivity on our platform over the years and we have very ambitious goals for future growth. We need to take these relationships to the next level. We want all airlines, hotel chains, travel agencies and ground transportation suppliers to think of us first when it comes to innovation and true partnership. This is where you'll come in.

As our VP of Supplier Relations, you'll inspire, coach, and grow your global team of 15 to be our brand ambassadors in the industry. You'll collaborate closely with our Product and Technology teams to balance revenue optimization with offering the highest value possible for our travelers.

Reporting directly to the COO, you'll have all the visibility and autonomy you need to drive significant change. Your vision and strategy will account for half of our revenue.

What you will do

  • Strategy: Develop and execute a supplier relationship and connectivity strategy to enable the best coverage, pricing, and inclusions for TravelPerk customers.
  • Commercials: Build and manage partnerships with hotels, OTAs, and third parties to guarantee the best commercials and performance.
  • Industry Presence: Represent TravelPerk at industry events and continue to build brand and value recognition in the travel industry.
  • Thought Leadership: You will be recognized as a thought leader in the industry and will be at the forefront of innovation in Travel.
  • Data: Decision-making must be data-driven to manage the hotel strategy and connectivity.
  • Cross-functional leadership: Collaborate with product and sales teams to quantify, and prioritize opportunities to improve our inventory.
  • Team development: Manage a high-performing team with a focus on continuous feedback, mentoring, coaching, and training.
  • Metrics: Build and execute against a set of KPIs to measure the team's performance.

What will you need

  • A proven track record of 10+ years of experience in travel distribution or leading strategic business areas with relevant leadership and stakeholder management responsibilities.
  • High level of sales skills and negotiations skills, especially in the e-commerce or travel space. Strategic prospecting skills, buyer-seller agreement, communication, qualification questioning, Closing Techniques and post sales relationship management.
  • Great communication skills in English: You can clearly explain (verbally and in writing) the connections between larger business goals and inventory goals to all stakeholders
  • Experience with GDS, Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), traditional agencies, and channel managers.

Our Vision is for a world where TravelPerk serves as the platform for human connection in-real-life (IRL). We take an IRL - first approach to work, where our team works together in-person 3 days a week. As such, this role requires you to be based within commuting distance of our Barcelona, London, Miami, Chicago, or Boston hub(office locations ).
