The Vice President (VP) of Finance at Jasper plays a critical role in leading the Finance team, steering the organization towards its financial goals, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and communicating financial performance and forecasts to stakeholders, including investors, board members, and regulatory bodies.

Job Summary:

The Vice President of Finance will lead the finance department, overseeing financial planning, risk management, accounting and financial record-keeping as well as internal and external financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance, with a proven track record in the biotech or related industry, demonstrating an ability to drive financial performance, improve financial processes, and ensure compliance with SEC and other regulatory requirements. Partnering with other functional areas across the company to ensure prudent capital management and real-time financial management is also a core competency for the role.

Key Responsibilities:

- Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute the company's financial strategy, aligning it with the overall business strategy. Develop and update budgets and financial forecasts, as well as a long-term financial plan to support long-term financial management and analysis to support the company's growth and sustainability.

- Financial Reporting and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely reporting of the company's financial results and conditions, including quarterly and annual reports as required by the SEC and other regulatory bodies.

- Maintain compliance with applicable financial regulations.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, including the development and management of annual budgets and forecasts, to support business objectives and financial goals.

- Capital Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, including credit, market and liquidity risks. Implement a strong investment policy and risk management strategies and controls to protect the company's assets and financial health with a focus on capital preservation.

- Stock Administration: Oversee the company's stock administration function providing a high level of customer service and support to employees, board members and investors.

- Operational Finance: Lead and drive efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and cash management. Implement systems and processes to improve financial performance and controls.

- Leadership and Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and alignment with business goals.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.

- Minimum of 10 years of financial management experience, with a significant portion in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, with a minimum of 5 years operating in a publicly traded company.

- Strong knowledge of SEC regulations, financial reporting, and compliance requirements for public companies.

Proven ability to develop and execute financial strategies that support business objectives.

- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with an ability to build, manage and develop high-performing teams.

- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with leadership teams, board members, employees and financial stakeholders.

- This role may require occasional travel to attend industry events, and engage with regulatory bodies.

- The VP of Finance must be able to navigate a fast-paced and dynamic environment, often with tight deadlines and high pressure.

$300,000 - $350,000 a year base plus bonus / stock
