WHO is Sound Generations?

We are a comprehensive non-profit organization that serves older adults and people with disabilities in King County. Our mission is to partner with older adults to provide accessible and inclusive services so they can age their way.

We are currently seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to join our Meals on Wheels team in Seattle, WA.

WHAT will I do?

The Volunteer Coordinator supports the recruiting, on-boarding, and management of volunteers. Conducts background checks, ensures continued volunteer eligibility and acts as a liaison between volunteers and staff. Provides other operational program support as directed.

Pay Rate: $26.79 per hour.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, 8am - 4:30pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and monitor program activities in relation to established program goals and within established program parameters.
  • Collaborate with program and organizational staff to recruit, screen, and place program volunteers and resources.
  • Prepare training and/or promotional materials.
  • Maintain customer relationship management database with volunteer contacts, and ensure staff are notified when new volunteers are available. Conduct background checks.
  • Direct the work of others and/or coordinate services of volunteers. May assist with program orientation and training.
  • Provide information and technical assistance to volunteers, staff, and program participants regarding program content, policies, and activities. May conduct visits and build relationships with partner sites throughout King County.
  • Conduct research and analyze data to identify program needs and volunteer eligibility for continued program participation.
  • Attend meetings and/or events as program representative.
  • Troubleshoot complaints from clients or staff about volunteers.
  • Plan and execute volunteer appreciation events and/or initiatives.
  • Perform the work of lower classified positions.

Requirements:

You must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree OR Equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience working or volunteering in social and human services or related field.
