VMware Engineer for Suffolk VA Participate as member of System Administration team and contribute to DevSecOps team to administer virtual system solutions to support Joint Staff training mission needs. This is a technical, hands-on role responsible for the successful operation of a variety of VMware products including VMware ESXi, vCenter Server, vSphere, and Horizon View on several different levels of classification. VMware support consists of design, installation, upgrades, configuration, testing, integration, documentations, STIG application, ACAS compliance, troubleshooting, repair, monitoring, and management of enterprise system services. Support written technical deliverables for customers and build new capabilities. Contributions to infrastructure, system/software pipeline, and other resources will be delivered. Required Skills: Candidate must have at least 6 years of experience in Engineering, Physics, Network Security, Information Systems or Computer Science to include: Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Support, Test and Evaluation, and Logistics support of C4ISR requirements. 4+ years of experience with Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating systems and VMware and VMware products. Ability to build and administer virtual machines in a VMWare virtualization environment. 3+ years; relevant experience with DoD Security practices and cyber security controls with an understanding of security methodologies.
Responsible for maintaining and administering virtual assets to support the Modeling and Simulation environment.
Ability to configure and manage operating systems, patch, update, and deploy services in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and 8.Assist in inventory and asset management in data centers.
Provide support for applications used to monitor and manage systems and services.Ability to create documentation, data flow diagrams, and asset diagrams to illustrate systems for Joint Staff training environment.Self-directed, results-oriented, and flexible; works well under pressure and adheres totight deadlines.Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.Education:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Information Systems, Engineering, Network Security, or related field. In lieu of education, 12 years of relevant job experience may be substituted.Certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE Computing environment training certificate or certification such as VMware CertifiedAssociate/Professional (VCA/VCP).Selected candidates must be able to maintain a TOP SECRET CLEARANCE.
