Virtualization Engineer with Security Clearance

Job Title: Virtualization Engineer Responsibilities of the Virtualization Engineer EDC Consulting LLC (EDC) is seeking candidates for a Virtualization Engineersupporting the U.S. Army in Radford, VA. The Virtualization Engineer will: Work with Government engineers to develop and maintain the architecture. Develop, deploy, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for the deployment and sustainment of the VMware suite of products. Utilize IaC for the provisioning of customer enclaves as applications are hosted on the solution. Provide daily administration of VMware products. Harden the VMware products per commercial best practices and the required government cybersecurity controls. Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis of any hosting platform issues. Provide on-call support for triage and resolution of after-hours production incidents. Make recommendations for improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance across a wide variety of network, storage, and compute services and technologies. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of hands-on experience or Master's Degree with 10 years of hands-on experience. Senior-level experience with the VMware suite of products. Strong automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong troubleshooting skills across the entire technology stack - network, storage, server, and applications. Working knowledge of DoD STIGs and IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM) - preferred.
