Delaware North is currently seeking a Vice President of Finance to lead the finance team be accountable for financial operations of Boston Bruins and Delaware North Boston which includes TD Garden, Boston Garden Development Corporation, The Hub on Causeway, Garden Parking Corporations, The Sports Museum of New England, and Deeridge Farms Hockey Association. As a senior member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for the businesses' annual and long-range financial plans, ensuring proper measurement, reporting, and forecasting performance against both. The position also directs and ensures the development of supportive quantitative analytics for the subsidiary scorecards and plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization's overall goals and objectives. Collaborate with senior management to create annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with the NHL for all league reporting and audits, ensuring accurate and timely submission of financial data and reports to the NHL, meeting all league requirements. Ensure compliance with player contract terms and financial obligations.
  • Oversee day-to-day finance and accounting operations, ensuring proper governance and procedures are in place for financial system data and internal controls to assure accuracy and adequacy of accounting records and documentation.
  • Oversight of annual certification process with internal and external auditors.
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships to ensure optimal financial health.
  • Lead and develop the skills and capabilities of a team of accounting and finance professionals, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Oversee DN-Boston leasing obligations and functions, maximize rights in North Station leasing, and maximize revenue from lease projects for DN Boston Holdings.
  • Partners with corporate finance leaders to ensure alignment on all accounting, FP&A, scorecard, and management reporting related standards and deliverables while maintaining efficient service delivery to the business.
  • Prepare and present regular financial reports and analysis on financial performance, key metrics, and investments to the executive team, ownership, and board of directors.
  • Identify and assess financial risks, ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements, and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Partner with Delaware North treasury overseeing lender and private placement lender investor relations.
  • Review and negotiate financial terms of contracts, sponsorships, and partnerships, ensuring all financial agreements are in the best interest of the organization.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external financial partners, auditors, and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in finance & accounting leadership required. Industry experience in arena and professional sports team highly preferred (NHL a plus).
  • Bachelor's degree required; CPA/MBA preferred.
  • Experience with Hockey Related Revenue, NHL Player Association audits preferred.
  • Ability to make well-balanced business decisions, through a finance lens, in the best interest of the enterprise.
  • Corporate policy and governance experience.
  • Previous experience managing a team with good people management and development attributes.
  • Strategic thought leadership, and credibility to advise senior leadership.
  • Embodies a client service mindset.
  • Ability to communicate and influence complex issues effectively with peers, subsidiary leadership teams, and other key stakeholders.
  • Very strong business acumen with a financial background across multiple disciplines
