Mount Indie is hiring a Vice President, Business Development and Capture to lead the growth of a data-centric, government contracting firm. This pivotal role will report directly to the President and CEO, reflecting its critical importance to the team's overall strategy and success. Ideally, we're looking for a growth-minded individual with experience providing strategic direction to capitalize on new business opportunities that leverage the company's success in delivering full lifecycle, data-intensive solutions and services to federal and commercial customers across multiple domains, data types and challenges. Summary:
•Take a leading role in crafting and executing the team's strategic plan for business growth, focusing on enhancing our footprint within the federal government sector.
•Proactively seek out and capitalize on new business opportunities that complement our key strengths and strategic direction.
•Build and nurture lasting relationships with principal decision-makers, stakeholders, and industry allies to establish the team as the go-to provider for data solutions and services.
•Oversee the capture management lifecycle, ensuring we deliver timely, compelling, and competitive proposals to win new business.
•Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to forge winning strategies and craft solutions that resonate with our target markets.
•Develop persuasive proposals, presentations, and promotional materials that effectively convey the team's value to prospective clients and partners.
•Enhance the processes for identifying opportunities and creating proposals, aiming for greater efficiency and quality in our business development activities.
•Monitor market dynamics, analyze competitors, and gather customer insights to guide strategic planning and improve our market approach.
•Achieve and surpass sales objectives, revenue targets, and other key performance indicators set by leadership.
•Regularly report on the business development pipeline, review the effectiveness of past initiatives, and pinpoint areas for improvement.
•Act as the team's ambassador at industry events, increasing brand visibility and cultivating strategic relationships that drive business growth. Qualifications:
•A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field such as computer science is preferred. However, a combination of a BA/BS in business administration, marketing, or a related field along with experience in federal IT is also acceptable. An advanced degree is advantageous but not mandatory.
•At least 7-10 years of experience in business development, capture management, or sales within the federal government contracting industry, especially with a focus on data solutions and services. Experience with the Department of Defense or Department of Homeland Security is a notable asset.
•Demonstrated track record of identifying and securing new business opportunities, consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and revenue objectives.
•Comprehensive understanding of the federal procurement process, including in-depth knowledge of contracting vehicles, regulations, and compliance requirements.
•Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, capable of clearly conveying complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
•Strategic mindset with robust analytical and problem-solving skills, adept at developing and implementing innovative business development strategies.
•Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, working effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
•While an active security clearance is beneficial, it is not required. However, candidates must be U.S. citizens and capable of obtaining a U.S. government clearance at a minimum SECRET level
