The Role

As a Group Chapter Leader (GCL) you will bring your expertise in cloud and cloud engineering to create and drive a strategy which will foster and grow our open and transparent culture globally. You will accelerate cloud engineering excellence while partnering with our cloud platform squad leaders to deliver our strategic platforms at exceptional levels of scale and quality. You will foster vibrant communities across the globe and the Chapter Area to enable engineers to share, learn and scale excellence.

We are passionate about opensource contribution, sharing our expertise and knowledge across the engineering community while embracing a continuous learning approach support by a dedicated learning day each week.



The Value You Deliver

  • Engage as an expert, staying abreast of industry trends, advancements, and innovations while visibility contributing to the industry discussion externally.
  • Build, lead and promote the vision, roadmap, and expectations for our global chapter area community.
  • Accelerate & increase efficiency by continuously improving engineering & operations practices.
  • Drive scale and reuse, through the adoption of pioneering engineering practices and standards.
  • Curate large learning events and facilitate learning at scale to promote skill, career, and development growth for chapter leaders and chapter members.
  • Empowering decision making across multiple Chapters on standards, practices and enabling these across our squads through partnership with Chapter Area leaders, Platform Leaders, etc.
  • Advance Diversity and Inclusion through promotion of inclusive hiring practices, mentoring and coaching.


The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Extensive experience working as an engineering leader focused on enabling and driving engineering excellence at scale.
  • Experience and knowledge of cloud engineering best practices and a deep understanding of industry trends for emerging practices and principles.
  • Experience working with container technology, APIs and large scale applications.
  • Proven track record, inspiring the creativity and innovation of engineering teams, creating a culture of inclusion, experimentation, exploration, and continuous learning.
  • Strong experience leading and fostering communities of engineering to amplify learning and the adoption of engineering best practices.
  • Proven ability to navigate and collaborate across the organization, with peers and senior management, influencing where necessary to ensure chapter areas objectives and standards are aligned.
  • Extensive experience developing hiring strategies to attract the very best in diverse talent and developing skills we need today and in the future.

The Cloud Engineering Chapter Area s mission is to develop and grow exceptional cloud engineering talent who excel in the construction of high quality, secure and scalable cloud platforms using industry-leading engineering principles and practices. Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs.
