Your Impact

The VP, Business Controller will be serve as a business partner for our new market teams as well as a finance lead for new ventures. This role will hold a thought leadership position within the CAO organization and will collaborate extensively with key business stakeholders and cross-functional leaders across the company to provide guidance and drive policy governance, robust internal controls, timely and accurate US GAAP accounting and reporting process, and integration of new businesses and operations.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee global accounting, reporting and finance operations to ensure robust controls and a high quality close in compliance under US GAAP.
  • A business partner to the sales team in contract negotiation and review and oversee quote-to-cash Close process.
  • Drive operational excellence for manufacturing financial processes including cost accounting and analysis, inventory valuation and manufacturing performance and risk reporting.
  • Oversee certain strategic Controllership M&A integration, including process and system integration. Collaborate with key functional leaders such as supply chain and operations on operational integration.
  • Function as a thought leader to supporting business management. Monitors day-to-day activities and acts as a liaison to business and operations teams for inquiries and data requests to support FP&A partner.
  • Oversee CRM and ERP upgrade for integrated business with Corporate IT support
  • Establish and continuously improve business processes and procedures to drive scalability in a high growth environment.
  • Support ad hoc Controllership projects that arise due to our rapid growth.
What You Bring
  • 12+ years of relevant experience
  • BS or equivalent in accounting or finance
  • CPA
  • A mix of Big 4 and industry experience managing and running business controllership functions at complex and multi-national publicly-traded companies
  • Prior segment controller experience with manufacturing experience a must. Additional software experience preferred.
  • M&A integration
  • Experience with leading ERP and consolidation tool implementation/upgrade
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP technical accounting, including manufacturing and cost accounting
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor

  • Executive presence and ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to demonstrate effective leadership in ambiguous and frequently changing situations; ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Government accounting experience in Aerospace or Defense industry a plus
The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 161,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 288,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
