Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, computation, and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Position

The Vice President, Business Operations is responsible for helping Eikon scale and enhance operational performance. This role will oversee and manage all Facility & Real-Estate operations, Engineering & Research Supplier Management, Warehousing & Logistics, Procurement and Global Infrastructure / Site expansion. The role will also have oversight of new facility builds and support the ongoing operation. The role includes clinical supply chain and could include commercial as the company achieves growth milestones.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and ambitious Operations leader who will oversee the expansion and further development of the operations team as the company progresses to the next stage of its evolution and growth. They will be leader with a sense of urgency who brings along a proven track record in development of world-class operations/supply chain team with the life sciences field. Expertise in the fields of continuous improvement activities (Lean / Six Sigma etc.) as well as having a keen understanding of state-of-the-art supply chain management analytics and SAP round off the ideal candidate profile. The ideal candidate will be a globally minded, forward-thinking operations leader who can shape, scale, and lead the organization's global business operations platform. They will be a proven change agent who is able to translate strategy into operations to support a high-velocity, fast growing business.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership to all operational functions to best integrate across the organization to deliver performance that supports corporate and business objectives.
  • Provide strong leadership, effective delegation, and oversight to Business Operations Management team.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure organizational standards are met and operational processes are efficient and in compliance with established standards and regulations.
  • Provide leadership to all operations organizations in compliance with company policies and legal directives, and that fully support the organization's goals.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction internally and externally through driving others to excellence in customer service by delivering quality products and services in a timely manner.
  • Recommend and implement process improvement ideas that improve our competitiveness.
  • Provide leadership, strategy and tactical plans for the CEO, CFO, and Sr. leadership regarding administration on operational matters.
  • Drive high performing teams by ensuring performance expectations are established and met, and that policies and procedures for hiring, managing performance, and developing staff are adhered to.
  • Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer in the development of the organization's annual budget.
  • Establish trust and confidence with direct reports and gain alignment on department goals and objectives and effectively facilitate change.
  • Continue the expansion and build-out of the operations, infrastructure, and support systems footprint.
  • Provide a 'key voice' as operational leader to the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Partner effectively across all functions within Eikon to achieve growth milestones.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 20+ years of experience or Post Graduate degree with 16+ years of experience in business, operations management, or a related field is preferred, complemented by relevant certifications or advanced degrees.
  • Relevant experience in operations with a "builder" versus "maintenance" orientation in a high growth company.
  • Proven experience in business that includes manufacturing operations within the Life Sciences, Diagnostics and/or Therapeutic sectors.
  • Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure, ERP/CRM/PLM and MS Office.
  • Experience negotiating contracts.
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to understand and use financial and cost information to drive operational decision making.
  • Solid working knowledge of budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Ability to work under tight schedules and drive projects with high speed.
  • Demonstrates highly effective communication, problem-solving skills and thought leadership in a highly professional manner.
  • Excellent cross-functional team leadership and participation skills.
  • Strong staff-development skills; effectively supervises and mentors team members through expression of positive demeanor and teamwork.
  • Ability to think "out of the box" and readily contribute in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

The expected salary range for this role is $270,000 to $294,500 depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.
