Job description:

Our client is a closely held building materials manufacturing company with locations throughout New England. The Company is recognized for
its outstanding service, the quality of its products and customer responsiveness.

The Vice President Finance will become a key contributor to the executive management team. This person will thrive in a hands on
business environment; lead the accounting team; and be a trusted business advisor to the President/CEO and CFO/Treasurer of this Boston
headquartered successful business.

The scope of the role will include all aspects of financial accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, as well as
development of internal control policies and procedures. Demonstrated leadership and team building skills and the ability to
supervisor/mentor a developing staff of 8-10 professionals is required.

Specific Responsibilities:

- Own the financial closing calendar, scheduling and assuring timely, complete, and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statement preparation.

- Manage all accounting operations including: Billing, A/R, A/P, and GL, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Human Resources and Information Technology, and industry specific Revenue Recognition.

- Responsible for budgeting, and financial reporting, and contribute to the development of the companys financial strategy and hiring
needs.

- Manage annual budget process collaborating with operations managers to assess and create performance targets

- Work with outside auditors regarding tax preparation.

- Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organization.

- Working with ownership, develop reporting enhancements on existing accounting software/systems to better analyze business line results including profitability and trends.

- Ensure accuracy of contract terms (payment terms, lease expirations) and ensure adjustments/renewals are properly reflected in operating results.

- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.

- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

- BS in Accounting; manufacturing experience required; a CPA; CMA and/or an MBA is a plus.

- Ten plus years of relevant experience

- Thorough knowledge of financial accounting/cost accounting principles and procedures is a must.

- Experience with general ledger functions and improving the closing process.

- Excellent managerial capabilities

- Demonstrated experience assisting President/ CEO and CFO to better formulate and make key business decisions.

The Company headquarters is in Boston. The selected individual is expected in office 4 out of 5 days. Initially, the individual will be in office full time until the individual is comfortable with the reporting cycle.

On site parking is part of the compensation package.
