Briarcliff Animal Hospital is seeking a full time Licensed Veterinary Technician with a passion for surgery, dentistry, and anesthesia to join our team as Lead Surgery Technician.

Our well-established, AAHA-accredited 8-doctor hospital is open 7am - 7pm on weekdays, 7am - 5pm Saturdays, closed Sundays.

Our wide range of services include primary care, illness care, soft tissue and laparoscopic surgery, dentistry, endoscopy, ultrasound, laser therapy, boarding, grooming, and much more. We see dogs, cats, and some of our doctors see exotic species as well.

About the Role

As Lead Surgery Technician, you will support our surgery and dentistry services by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our patients, clients, and team. Duties will include:

Compassionate patient care
Client education and care
Venipuncture and catheter placement
Medication and IV infusion preparation and administration
Surgical preparation and assisting
Anesthesia monitoring and recovery
Dentistry - cleaning, polishing, radiology, charting, etc.
Maintaining surgical instruments, equipment and supplies
Providing surgical, dental, and anesthetic training for patient care team
Utilizing and maintaining autoclave and EtO sterilizer
Radiology and diagnostics
Lab sample collection and processing
Safe and effective patient handling and restraint
Medical recordkeeping

Compensation: Based on skills, credentials, education, and experience, ranging into the $20's per hour for highly qualified licensed candidates.

Qualifications:

Georgia Veterinary Technician license (LVT) or eligible to obtain license upon hire required
Compassion for patients, clients and team
Solid knowledge and experience with veterinary anesthesia, surgical nursing, dentistry, preventative care, common illnesses and emergencies
Proficient in technical skills like blood draws, catheter placement, medication and fluid therapy administration, diagnostics, anesthesia
Experience with surgical instruments and equipment
Able to lift 40lbs+ and proficient in dog and cat patient handling
Proficiency with computers, tablets, electronic medical records
